Thank you to Spring Clean-Up Volunteers!
The weather finally cooperated for the Horseshoe Valley Property Owners Association’s annual spring clean-up. It was a beautiful day on Saturday and we had about 25 volunteers, both adults and children out to enjoy the weather and help clean up garbage left in our community.
There were several notable items of garbage collected during the morning clean up including a discarded tire, scrap metal, numerous empty bottles of water and spirits and even some other items that would be classified as X-rated, and we would rather not mention exactly what they might be.
The volunteers collected several dozen bags of garbage from our community and volunteers were also out helping Debbie Palmer and her crew clean up the beautiful garden at the entranceway at Line 4 and Highland Drive.
We had a visit from our local Ward One counsellor Lori Hutchison and she thanked all of the volunteers for coming out and helping.
A special thank you to Jason Holman and the staff of Tim Hortons on Dunlop Street in Barrie for providing refreshments of coffee, hot chocolate and tasty timbits for all the volunteers.
Thanks to Laurie Forbes and her crew at Line 3 and Highland Drive who were out a couple of weeks ago sprucing up the garden entrance there.
Thanks to HVPOA board members President Sonia Faryna and her partner Jean-Pierre Ouellette, Vice President Todd Vann, and Treasurer Rick Quinney
for helping to organize the event.
Finally, thank you to Ron Berry who was once again offering his pickup truck and his personal services to collect all of the bags of garbage around our community that were left by the volunteers. Ron has been doing this every year for at least the last decade. Thanks Ron.
Thank you for helping keep our community clean. Till next year!
