Champions for Our Valley

The Horseshoe Valley Property Owners Association (HVPOA) has been the steadfast voice of our community since 1968. We are a member-driven organization committed to representing the interests of residents and ensuring our unique landscape and quality of life are preserved for future generations.

Our Mission

The mission of Horseshoe Valley Property Owners Association is to enhance and sustain our community’s unique qualities though inclusivity, communication, community events and celebration, mindful advocacy and positive partnerships with local businesses, and other community groups.

Meet Our Leadership

Our association is driven by a dedicated group of volunteers committed to serving the valley and its property owners.

Board Chair

Mary Sheridan

Chairs board meetings, sets agendas in collaboration with others, and ensures the board functions effectively and in accordance with its governance responsibilities. Serves as a key ambassador for the organization, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and supporting the work of our volunteers.

Vice-Chair

Paul Grass

Supports the president in leading the board and advancing strategic priorities, stepping in to chair meetings or represent the organization when needed. Often provides leadership to committees and helps ensure continuity of board work and succession.

Treasurer

Kara Plummer

Provides financial oversight by reviewing budgets, reports, and statements to support sound decision-making. Works with volunteer board members to ensure proper financial controls, compliance, and clear reporting to the board.

Melanie Wilde

OPEN

Develops and manages relationships with business partners, sponsors, and donors to secure financial and in-kind support. Identifies opportunities for collaboration, recognition, and mutual benefit that strengthen the organization’s sustainability.

Leads the planning and delivery of marketing, communications, and social media activities that build awareness of the organization and its programs. Ensures consistent messaging, oversees promotional materials, and supports outreach to key audiences

Oversees strategies to recruit, welcome, and retain members while fostering engagement and satisfaction. Maintains accurate membership records and proposes member benefits, processes, and communications.

Director:  At Large

Rick Quinney

Participates fully in board discussions and decisions, bringing a broad organizational perspective rather than representing a specific portfolio. Takes on special projects or committee work as needed to advance the organization’s strategic and operational goals.

Director: Governance

Susan Carmichael

Provides leadership in developing, reviewing, and upholding the organization’s bylaws, policies, and strategic direction. Ensures the board fulfills its legal and fiduciary responsibilities and that decisions align with the mission

Secretary

Carolina Perez

Maintains accurate records of board meetings, including agendas, minutes, and official documents. Ensures board documentation is organized, accessible, and compliant with legal and policy requirements.

Director: Events

Lynn Penton

Plans and coordinates events that advance the organization’s mission, community profile, and fundraising goals. Manages event timelines, volunteer roles, and logistics to deliver safe, engaging, and well-run activities.
